“…My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life” (John 10:10).
I overhead a fellow who was born again saying, that the reason why some people have it all together is that of God’s favor. And that things will be financially well with him if God would favor him. He even went further to say that he is praying and hoping that one day God will remember him. When I heard it, I felt sorry for him knowing in my spirit that if he doesn't change his confession and belief system, sooner or later he will die in that state of penury. I knew his praying was an exercise in futility because his words and action were a contradiction to God’s will for his life. How can a Christian believe that God will remember him one day and bless him? Ephesians 1:3 says “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ” Scriptures never said we should pray and hope that God will bless or favor us one day. Whatever favor or blessing you seek is already in and on you. Instead of praying and hoping for it, just work it out through your generosity. In other words, the reason why some people live a life that depicts completeness has nothing to do with God but with the individual. I guarantee that they may have activated the blessing by being a material blessing in God’s kingdom and to their community.
Listen, It’s important that you study the Word of God for yourself, because there’s a lot of “goofy” stuff flying around that sound like bible truth. I have no doubt in my mind that this fellow must have heard someone begging and hoping that God will remember them some days. To be honest, it’s really insulting for any Christian to walk around with such belief system. This fellow is in no way different from those who also believe that life is full of up’s and downs. Such display of life is far from what Jesus suffered and died for you to have. You must reject the notion that your suffering somehow glorifies God. Listen, God does not get any glory from watching you get whopped by the very things He has charged you to dominate. God gets no glory from you being cornered by the devil. Psalm 35:27 says that God “…delights in the prosperity of His servant." So don’t settle for second hand Christianity called religion; it would cost you everything that Jesus died for you to have. He died so that you could have a rich and satisfying life.
Jesus said “…My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life” (John 10:10). Brothers and sisters, this image of a rich and a satisfying should be your consciousness each day. It’s a life of unending celebration. For this reason, It’s very vital that you saturate your mind with the picture that your life is a symbol of a Holy Ghost jamboree: one of unending increase and favor. Mind you, your senses will never accord to this image. You may not feel it just like the fellow I described above and there may be physical factors that oppose this picture that God has of you. But you must hold on to what God has presented to you. This is why I say over and over again that you must confess the Word consistently because, with your confession of God’s Word, you compel any contrary image to line up with the reality of a life of endless celebrations, goodness, and grace. So the fellow who is praying and hoping that God’s favor will come on him when God remembers him should rather quit such shenanigans and lay a hold on God’s Word that says we have a rich and a satisfying life.
God Bless You!
