“So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name.” — Acts 5:41
The early disciples had a perspective that is rare and powerful. After being persecuted, beaten, and publicly shamed, they did not respond with fear, anger, or discouragement. Instead, they rejoiced.
Why? Because they understood that suffering for the name of Jesus was not a loss—it was an honor.
This kind of mindset is only possible when your identity is rooted in Christ. When you know who you are and who you belong to, opposition does not weaken you—it strengthens your resolve. The disciples saw persecution as confirmation that they were aligned with God’s purpose.
Today, challenges may come because of your faith, your stand for truth, or your commitment to live for God. But do not be discouraged. If anything, let it remind you that you are walking in the footsteps of Christ.
Rejoicing in such moments is an act of faith. It declares that your loyalty to God is greater than your desire for comfort or approval from others.
Stand firm. Be bold. And like the disciples, rejoice—not because of the suffering, but because you are counted worthy to stand for His name.
Faith-Filled Confession:
I stand boldly for Christ, no matter the cost. I rejoice in every situation, knowing that I am aligned with God’s purpose. My faith is unshakable, and my life brings glory to His name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
