"It is written: "I believed; therefore I have spoken." Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak" (2 Corinthians 4:13).
There is immense cause for celebration when you perceive life through the lens of God's Word. Understandably, you may encounter perplexing situations, but irrespective of your circumstances, the Lord says, rejoice! Rejoicing should not be contingent upon how you feel or the favorability of your circumstances; rather, it should be your lifestyle, which is dictated by God's Word.
Saints, we rejoice because adverse circumstances offer opportunities to put our faith to work. How else will we demonstrate to the world that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever? So, settle it in your mind that you will not shrink back when faced with adversity. Besides, you do not belong to the group that retreats. You are part of a lineage of victors headed by Jesus who called adversity bread and spoke boldly in the Lord. They cast out devils, healed the sick, and raised the dead. Hebrews 11:33-34 vividly depicts their exploits: "…subdued kingdoms, administered justice, obtained promised blessings, closed the mouths of lions, extinguished the power of raging fire, escaped the devouring of the sword, out of frailty and weakness won strength and became stalwart, even mighty and resistless in battle, routing alien hosts."
Imagine for a moment a five-year-old challenging a professional wrestler to a wrestling match. It is not only laughable but also not worth taking seriously.
Child of God, within you, resides the same power that brought the heavens and the earth into existence. So, live independent of your circumstances, with God's Word as your driving force. If the Word instructs you to count it all joy in the face of various tests, then count it all joy! And instead of questioning how things will unfold, know that God never assigns a task without equipping you for it. So, rejoice, knowing that in all things, you are more than a conqueror. As you face the challenges of the day, know that whatever lies ahead is no match for the firepower of the Holy Ghost dwelling within you.
God bless you!
Faith Filled Confession:
I rejoice in the Lord; I rejoice in His Word. I have no sad days or down days because the joy of the Lord is my strength, and my life is on an upward and forward trajectory. In Jesus' name. Amen.
