“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is…” (Ephesians 5:15-17 NIV)
Part of fighting the good fight of faith, particularly in the area of provision and finances requires a deep understanding of what God’s will is for your life. Broadly, God’s will for you is to be His priest on earth, worshiping, interceding, and preaching the gospel of His kingdom.
Armed with this knowledge, the good fight of faith entails deploying the time you have here on earth to being all that God willed you to be. However, the adversary’s strategy has been to take you away from your call to spread the gospel, raise righteous children, and build a Christian society by presenting you with a pursuit for provision, noble as it may be.
But how can you fulfill the call of God on your life if you are so busy chasing a salary in exchange for 40 hours a week of your limited time, and another 10 hours a week of commute time? God’s idea for how you use your time is that you spend your time serving Him. In Exodus 8:1, He tells Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and say to him, ‘Thus says the LORD: “Let My people go, that they may serve Me.” Your time ought to be used in service of the Lord and in service exchange for your sustenance. The whole scheme of working for a salary is designed to distract you from the divine design.
So how do I look after my family? Someone asks. Here líes the good fight of faith in the area of provision and it is dependent on knowing what the will of God is and the creative gift He has deposited in you. Understand that God is a creator, and He created you in His image to use your creativity to create systems that supply you with endless provision while you focus on serving Him.
Hear me, you were not designed to slave at a job for your sustenance. Rather, you were designed to serve the Lord and this entails using your time differently, in the service of God and His causes for your life.
Devote yourself to this idea today and ask the Lord to show you how to serve Him in a way that redeems time and demonstrates your commitment to His total will for your life.
Have a blessed day!
Faith-Filled Confession
I walk wisely from this point on, with the knowledge of God’s will that my life be devoted to His service. I also know how to derive every provision from His vision of service for me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Pray:
Colossians 1:9-10
Pray that God's people will live according to His purpose for their lives, being filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. Ask that they may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, pleasing Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.
Ephesians 1:15-19
Pray for our residents and partners to be filled with the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ, so that the eyes of their hearts may be enlightened. Pray that they may know the hope of Christ's calling, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.
Deuteronomy 8:18
Acknowledge the Father as the one who gives us the power to make wealth, confirming His covenant. Pray that the eyes of our residents are opened to recognize and take hold of God-given opportunities that lead to financial increase, thereby allowing more time for pursuing God's purpose and serving Him.
