RECOGNIZING THE PERVERTED GOSPEL

"But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed" (Galatians 1:8).

Many gospels are preached in the world today, and while they are directed towards various people groups, some specifically target the Church with their messages. To be certain, the gospel that we have received, from which we derive our salvation, is the gospel of Jesus Christ. Paul writes, "For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of His Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers" (Romans 1:9). Like Paul, the gospel that we have to serve God with, is the gospel of His Son. 

This same gospel, the Bible says, "...is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith" (Romans 1:16-17). 

The righteousness of God is revealed from one level of faith to another through the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Describing this in another place, 1 Timothy 3:16 calls it the mystery of godliness when it says, "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory." This gospel of Jesus Christ attests to Him being God manifested in human flesh, living victoriously on earth, dying, being raised from the dead by the Holy Spirit for the purpose of justification, receiving recognition among angels as Lord of all, being preached about and believed on in the world for salvation and received to seat at the highest position in glory. 

However, these other gospels that have been presented to the Church have been characterized by the adulteration of humanism. Their message will almost always put human effort, desire, will, or essentialism at the center as a replacement for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. God describes the purveyors of these other gospels as those "who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen" (Romans 1:25), indicating the introduction of a perversion. 

These perverted gospels, which are really not gospel at all, have elements within their presentation that make them seem godly, but they always have hints of humanism within them. You hear things like, "Do it if it makes you feel good" or "Good vibes only." In other cases, some present Zodiac compatibility as their gospel. Beware of such news. Instead, let the gospel of Jesus Christ dominate how you think by studying the Bible, listening to Bible teachings, and fellowshipping with other believers at Church. 

Understand that you have been imparted with the spiritual credentials not to be swayed by these subtleties of the devil. Your heart can decipher the spirit behind any message. So, turn away immediately from any other gospel that purveys human-centeredness and, by extension, divisions.

Faith-Filled Confession

I am sensitive to the Holy Spirit, who has blessed me with the ability to perceive messages that do not agree with the gospel of my Lord Jesus Christ. There is no weapon of deception fashioned against me that can prosper because I am a God-kind, and my heritage is of God. Hallelujah!

Pray for the Church

▪ Pray fervidly against violent attacks on churches and places of Christian worship in this country. 

▪ Declare heightened activity of angels in and around all church auditoriums and Christian gatherings everywhere in this nation, beyond the physical security arrangements made, such that nothing and no one shall be able to cause hurt or harm to the saints by any means. 

▪ We declare today that anyone in government and media who secretly or openly sponsors or promotes violence and hostility against Christians and the Church is removed by the hand of God. We declare that men of violence and all who hate the Church will proceed no further in our nation. As God's voice in this land, we declare their offices and platforms vacant; they are speedily removed and replaced by men of peace who favor the Church and seek her good. As was the case with Haman, who hated the Jews without cause, so shall their end be unless they repent and accept Jesus as Lord.

"...wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews..." (Esther 3:6).

"As the word went out of the king's mouth, they covered Haman's face. 10 So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king's wrath pacified" (Esther 7:8,10).
