ABOVE ALL NAMES

“….that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:10-11)

In Acts 4:12, the scripture declares, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” The beautiful thing about this verse is that it says salvation is only in the name of Jesus. In other words, every kind of salvation is in the name of Jesus. You want salvation from sin, sickness, poverty, failure, you name it; it’s all in the name of Jesus. No wonder Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” The Greek word for salvation in Acts 4:12 is sótéria; which means complete deliverance. It also means welfare, prosperity, deliverance, preservation, salvation and safety. In other words, the very day you got saved, was the very day you were severed from the bondage of lack, sickness, disappointments and all that contradicts the will of God for your life.

So if you are experiencing any form of brokenness, it’s not because God hasn't done something about it. On the contrary, God did something about it: He saved you and delivered you from every form of brokenness and despair. All you need to do now is to take advantage of all that has been wrought for you in Christ and reject anything that is contrary. In Acts 9:8, we see this play out. Peter said, "Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you! Get up, and roll up your sleeping mat!" And he was healed instantly.” Notice that Peter didn’t pray for him; he simply told him by the Holy Ghost what Jesus had already done for him. And when his understanding was enlightened, the works of Christ in his life sprang into reality. Why didn’t Peter pray? Peter didn’t have to because Aeneas was a believer in Jesus Christ. As far as heaven was concerned, Aeneas was already healed and walking. God just needed someone to tell him what had already been done in Christ Jesus for him. I remember praying for someone and as I was about to lay my hands on this person, I heard the Lord said “It’s already done.” God did not see this person as sick or broken, even though in the natural it appeared that way. God thought differently and He instructed me to tell this person that it was already done.

You may ask, “If it was already done, why was this person still in this situation?” The answer is simple: you can’t enjoy something that belongs to you if you don’t know that it is yours in the first place. If Aeneas knew that Jesus had already made him well, do you believe he would have continued to live a broken life? I don’t believe so. Aeneas suffered because of his lack of awareness and consciousness of Christ in his life. When you fully grasp the immensity of the Christ that lives in you and all that He did for you, you’ll come to the same conclusion that Peter came to when he said “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Peter was simply saying that in Christ Jesus, there is salvation for every situation and that the name Jesus is above every other name and answers to every problem, known and unknown to man.

Now that you have been saved by His name, use the same name to compel everything to reflect the victor that you are in Christ Jesus.

God Bless You!

Faith Filled Confession:

Jesus is exalted in my life. The name Jesus is above every situation and challenge that comes my way. I am confident of the power that is in the name of Jesus. Therefore, I declare in the name of Jesus that I am in health; I have rest on every side. I have been severed from darkness and all its manifestations. I live the God life. I prosper all day and in all things, in Jesus name, Amen.
