PRAY FOR YOUR CHILDREN

"Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward" (Psalm 127:3)

The Bible says that children are bequeathed to us by the LORD. And the fruit of the womb is His recompense. Now, this is not specific to children that you have biologically, no. It could also include nephews, nieces, adopted children, and children that God has placed in your life through guardianship. The responsibility of guiding these children is ours such that when they become adults, they can stand on their own. The Bible says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6).

In a sense, the word "train" means to prepare. Therefore, preparing our children to know Jesus for themselves requires that we pray a certain way. First, we pray for an unveiling of the gospel among our children. 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 says, "But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them."

Understand the sequence, the god of this world, who we must deal with concerning our children, is the source of the veiling or blinding of the spiritual eyes of our kids. And so we must pray that the eyes of their hearts are flooded with light. As per the content of Paul's prayer, we pray for our children, no matter how old they are, "that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints" (Ephesians 1:17-18).

Child of God, this is how you flip the switch on and get your kids to meet Jesus, one-on-one. Now, this may take minutes, hours, or months but understand the principle here. Darkness and light cannot coexist. 

The Bible says, "And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." The moment you get a note of victory in prayer, they will begin to hunger to know God in ways beyond your wildest imagination. Your spiritual influence in their affairs will be expanded such that they will recognize the prophetic significance of your relationship with them. 

Just as Eli guided Samuel on responding to God, your children will follow your spiritual mentorship, deepening the relationship even more. 

The way to win them is to switch on the floodlights in their spirits so that they can meet Jesus. They are not always going to be under your spiritual covering, and this is very important to remember as we take the responsibility to help them gain spiritual standing with the LORD.

Faith Filled Confession

I and the children the LORD has given me are blessed. The eyes of their hearts are flooded with light, and every darkness is dispelled. As I pray to a note of victory, I know that the LORD perfects all that concerns them such that they know YAHWEH as their God, and He knows them as His people. Glory!

Prayer Points 

Proverbs 22:6 says," Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." 

Psalm 71:17 – "O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works." 

Matthew 18:5-6:" And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea."

Pray for children and young people in your family; that they are shielded from all evil and wicked devices of the enemy, rescued from wicked and unreasonable men, protected on every side, undistracted by negative peer pressures, but growing up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, fulfilling their purpose in Christ. 

Pray also for their parents, teachers, and guardians, that they are guided in God's wisdom to lead them in the way that they should go, causing them to be excellent in every way, to the glory of God.
