PRAY EVEN IN MOMENTS OF CALM

07/26/2024

“Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]" (James 5:16 AMP).

What do you do when you don’t feel the need to pray? The answer is simple: pray. If we only pray when we need something from God, then we are praying for nothing. A wise man once said, “Those who know God the best are the richest and most powerful in prayer.” Prayer breeds encounters, encounters breed revelation, revelation breeds convictions, convictions breed trust, and trust breeds faith. Without faith, it's impossible to please God. The key here is that faith prays; unbelief does not, and Satan dreads the praying believer. Prayer is a powerful deterrent to sin and the forces of darkness. Now you understand why the enemy doesn't mind you doing everything but praying. For example, it is impossible to gossip about the people for whom we pray.

Jesus said, “Men ought always to pray, and not to faint” (Luke 18:1). Not only when they feel like praying. Yes, there will be times when the impulse to pray is strong, but you must pray whether you feel it or not. One of the benefits of prayer is that it desensitizes you from the world. It acts as a shield over your soul against the works of the flesh dominating you. Without heartfelt prayer, you may unconsciously embrace the world's ways, and your life will lack the glow of the Spirit. If Jesus said we ought always to pray, it means that the grace and anointing to pray and receive answers are mighty upon us.

When the apostle, by the revelation of the Spirit, said, “The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]" (James 5:16 AMP), it was a clarion call for us today. We must prioritize prayer every day, confident that prayer is not just a discourse; it is a way of life with God. So, I urge you to submit your will and emotions to the spirit of prayer and maximize the glory of His presence today.

Have a wonderful day, and pray intermittently all day long.

God bless you!

Faith-Filled Confession

Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus, I refuse to be anxious about anything. I refuse to patronize failure, defeat, and sickness. I am alive to the abiding victory in Christ Jesus. I am alive to my divine wisdom, health, and success, alive to my victory over hell and death, alive to the dominion of the Holy Ghost at work within me. I am alive to righteousness, God's divine favor and increase, purpose and destiny in Christ Jesus, and soul winning. In Jesus' name, Amen.
