"Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise, Which, having no captain, Overseer or ruler, Provides her supplies in the summer, And gathers her food in the harvest." (Proverbs 6:6-8)
One of the instructions we received along with the message, the Year of Wonder was to plan and build a 100-year legacy. To do this, will require a mind shift from thinking about people like a person to thinking about people like God. Now, when God thinks about people, He thinks transgenerationally, in three or four generations. And based on His thoughts, He calls them to fulfill a destiny on earth.
During the renaming of Abraham, which in itself was an ordination into destiny, God set a new life plan for the erstwhile Abram with these words, "I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. Also, I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God” (Genesis 17:6-8).
The first thing you must grasp in the development of this 100-year legacy is the destiny or calling that God has placed on your life because it would be the same for you and at least, your children and grandchildren. This is the reason God calls Himself, "... the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob" (Matthew 22:32). If you let the Holy Spirit reveal who you are to you, it would give your children a good headstart on their transgenerational destiny.
The other thing is that you will get an insight into the type of training to which you expose yourself and the next two generations. When the Bible says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it..." it is an indication that God expects you to know the vocation of your children by learning yours from the Holy Spirit.
The world's elites understand the three-generational calling and plan accordingly but many of God's people are influenced by and operate like the world's middle class who leave their children to self-discover themselves.
Lastly, plan and manage your resources with three generations in mind. You can't spend everything you get on yourself. Understand that you have a duty to provide lands and houses to the next generation. Proverbs 19:14 NIV says, "Houses and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is from the LORD."
Now, someone might be asking, "Where do I start?" Start with the Holy Spirit who lives inside you. Ask Him about your vocation and His expectations concerning generation. Next, write down the things that the Holy Spirit tells you and use those things to chart a course for the next 100 years. "...“Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it." (Habakkuk 2:2)
There is a duty that God has given to you and it is to establish a legacy that can extend a hundred years.
God bless you
Faith-Filled Confession
I am perceptive to the leading of the Holy Spirit with respect to planning a 100-year legacy. I plan my calling, resources and family with a view to the next hundred years by the grace and help of the God of wonder. Hallelujah!
ONE YEAR BIBLE READING PLAN: Genesis 38-40; Matthew 12:22-50
DAY 15 OF 21 DAYS OF FASTING AND PRAYER
SOUL WINNING DRIVE IN ALL OUR CHURCHES – 1Cor. 3:9, 2Cor. 5:18, Eph. 6:19, Col. 4:3, Matt. 9:36, Acts 11:13-14
Pray for increased passion for soul winning in our churches. Declare that a deep and unquenchable passion for the lost is stirred in the hearts of our pastors and partners, causing them to go out into their world of contact to preach the word. We are resolute in all our soul winning efforts, as we persuade the lost to receive salvation.
Pray and declare that every member of our ministry will see themselves as God’s agent of salvation, specially enlisted in his workforce and ordained to turn sinners from darkness to light and from the power of satan unto God.
Declare that as we go out every day, the Lord would guide us to the souls whose hearts He has prepared.
Pray and declare that by reason of all our soul winning campaigns this year, a stronger and more effective serve team is raised for the ever expanding work of our ministry worldwide.
Pray and declare that new campuses are opening this year.
