NOT THEIR WAY OF LIFE

04/10/2024

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will" (Romans 12:2).

The world's way of life is fraught with tribulation, distress, suffering, failure, disappointment, sin, sickness, and more. It lacks all that pertains to living a fulfilled, godly life in Christ Jesus. Therefore, it would be imprudent for a child of God to conform to the standards of this world. Such conformity would amount to submitting oneself to the tools Satan employs to control lives. As Romans 6:16 states, "Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?" In essence, aligning your thoughts and actions with the wisdom and patterns of this world will only result in defeat, failure, sickness, and all forms of darkness.

This is precisely why the Spirit of God admonishes us, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind" (Romans 12:2). In other words, we are not to adopt the mindset, speech, or behaviors of the world around us. They have their ways of doing things, but as new creations in Christ, we are called to follow a different path. The world's ways lead to fear and death, whereas God's ways lead to glory and elevate us to experience the power of God in new dimensions.

David expressed this truth eloquently in Psalm 1:1, declaring, "Blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans, and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather." It's remarkable to note that David identifies it as a blessing to reject the counsel of the ungodly because following the advice of the ungodly subjects one to the tyranny of failure, sickness, and all forms of darkness.

If you shift your focus away from the transient offerings of this world and instead turn inward to embrace the beauty and reality of Christ within your spirit, you will begin to manifest the will of your heavenly Father – victory, prosperity, peace, favor, and all the blessings that grace has bestowed upon us in Christ Jesus.

Today, I implore you to reject the mindset and lifestyle dictated by the world. You are a new creation in Christ. Embody the living Word of God to those around you. Live out the victorious life that is yours in Christ Jesus; let the Word dwell richly in your heart and be boldly proclaimed from your lips.

God bless you!

Faith-Filled Confession:

I  reject the world's ways and embrace the truth of God's Word. In Christ, I find victory, prosperity, peace, and favor. I am empowered to manifest His will on earth as a vessel of His grace. With His Word in my heart and on my lips, I live victoriously and shine as a beacon of His love to the world. Amen.
