NAVIGATING THE HARVEST FIELD

"Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest.” (Matthew 9:38)

Jesus is the Lord of the harvest. He knows where the harvest is and this is why we are admonished to pray for more laborers to be sent into His harvest. In Luke 5:4, the Bible says, "When He [Jesus] had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” The thing I want you to note is that the harvest was not apparent in the place where Jesus asked Peter to let down his net and we know this because, in Luke 5:5, the Bible says, "But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word, I will let down the net.”

Here's the good part, the Bible says, "And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats so that they began to sink." (Luke 5:6-7). The harvest will be so large that it will entail relationships. In some cases, old relationships will be rekindled and in others, new ones will start because there are some harvests for which partnerships, consolidations and collaborations will be required. 

Today, I admonish you to be attuned to the LORD in prayer. The soul harvest may not be apparent in a situation, place, or conversation if you have not prayed, so you are charged to pray. 

Pray that the LORD would minister this harvest opportunities to your heart and that utterance may be given to you that you may open your mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel according to Ephesians 6:19. 

Pray for sensitivity among God's people to know where and when to partner, consolidate or collaborate to win souls. Ezekiel 47:10 says, "It shall be that fishermen will stand by it from En Gedi to En Eglaim; they will be places for spreading their nets. Their fish will be of the same kinds as the fish of the Great Sea, exceedingly many." En Gedi is a place where young goats drink water. And En Egliam is a place where heifers drink water. But prophetically, these locations, sometimes obscure in nature, will be places (identifiable by the Lord of the harvest) where the same quality of souls that could have been harvested in large metropolitan areas are harvested there. As an aside, the sea is a key in Bible prophecy for large clusters of people. 

Spend some time praying for these two things now. Pray for utterance and for sensitivity to the geo-location of the Lord of the Harvest for His harvest.
