"Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, From the rebellion of the workers of iniquity, Who sharpen their tongue like a sword, And bend their bows to shoot their arrows—bitter words" (Psalm 64:2-3)
In these last days, particularly with the advent of social media, there is a fervent need to always have fully charged spiritual batteries or be pensive about your public declarations and pronouncements. Why? Our enemy is always spying on us through his agents, particularly on social media.
For this reason, if you are one who is given to posting your personal information online, you must be ready to either bring your posting under the direction of the Holy Spirit or maintain a prayer life that is seven times more in terms of time spent than what you spend online, posting.
There are things the Holy Ghost will not permit you to post online about your affairs and you must now become sensitive to ask Him. If you understand spiritual warfare, there are things that should only be confidential to your prayer closet, and possibly, the select people with whom God allows you to share. In Bible terms, David, being a prophet knew that there were workers of iniquity whose stock in trade is evil words. These workers of iniquity still exist today. They don't know everything and for the most part, only know what you arm them with. This is why your online activities must be regulated by the Holy Spirit. As a matter of fact, except when you are making friends for Jesus, I would rather you hold back personal information about yourself from social media except the Holy Spirit has asked you to share something online. I would rather that you move in silence.
The other thing is, if you must make public declarations on social media, then you must have cultivated the discipline to pray through those declarations, seven-fold of the time. "Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.” (1 Kings 18: 41). Elijah didn't make the declaration and go his way. The Bible says, "So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees, and said to his servant, “Go up now, look toward the sea.” So he went up and looked, and said, “There is nothing.” And seven times he said, “Go again.” Notice, Elijah devoted seven times as much effort to praying about his declaration than the declaration itself.
The Bible says, "Where the word of a king is, there is power; And who may say to him, “What are you doing?” (Ecclesiastes 8:4). Learn to back your declarations and posts online with power. Otherwise, operate in silence apart from when the Lord instructs you to post a testimony or public comment.
God bless you
