MEDITATION IN THE FIRE

03/06/2024

"Then the LORD said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live. So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived" (Numbers 21:8-9).

Someone faced with many issues might wonder what to meditate upon in the Word of God, and I might just say, "Meditate in the fire." What do I mean by "Meditate in the fire"? I mean, meditate amid your challenges. Let the challenge that constitutes the most nagging pressure on your heart orient your meditation.

So, if debt is the most nagging pressure, look for seeds (scriptures on abundance) and begin to plant them in the ground of your heart. Luke 8:11 tells us that the Word of God is the seed, and 1 Corinthians 15: 37-38 says, "And what you sow, you do not sow that body that shall be, but mere grain—perhaps wheat or some other grain. For God gives it a body as He pleases, and to each seed its own body." In other words, as long as you sow the seed of abundance in your heart through meditation, God's job is to give a body of abundance to that seed in a measure that He pleases.

We also know from Ephesians 3:20 that our God "...is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us." This power at work in us is the power of seedtime and harvest. So you are guaranteed that if you put marriage, baby, or promotion seeds in your heart, God is bound to give your seed a body of His choosing that surpasses your meditative ability.

Don't bother yourself with "the how." Your job is to sow the word in your heart. Mark 4:26-27 NLT says, "Jesus also said, "The Kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, while he's asleep or awake, the seed sprouts and grows, but he does not understand how it happens." Remove yourself from how it will happen. Don't go and sit in front of that person you desire for a spouse. Let God open the doors or give you someone who is His best for you.

Now, if you are in the middle of a crisis, getting repo notice after foreclosure notice after eviction notice, let your eyes and lips not stray from sowing seeds in your heart. The more the pressure, the longer your meditation sessions should be. I know you have heard that prayer is the key all your life--and by all means, pray-- but meditation is the hand that gets the key into the keyhole to open the door.

So, meditate in the midst of the fire!

Faith-Filled Confession

I am wise in my God. And the God-life that I have, is my advantage in the fire of life's tests. I prevail to open doors and surmount every obstacle by meditation on the Word of God such that my response to raging storms is exactly as my Yeho-Shua, the Messiah, would have responded. I am unstoppable and full of unending victories all year long. Glory be to God.
