MAKE BOLD TO SHARE THE TRUE GOSPEL

08/12/2023

"At the same time pray for us, too, that God will open a door [of opportunity] to us for the word, to proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I have been imprisoned; that I may make it clear [and speak boldly and unfold the mystery] in the way I should" (Colossians 4:3-4 AMP).

There is a manner in which you must share the gospel. It must be unequivocal. But first, what is the gospel, and what is its relevance in a world with all sorts of pursuits and enticements? The gospel is often summarized as good news. But the good news of what? What good news is the world aching to hear that the gospel conveys? Is the gospel some motivational talk about how God will pay off your mortgage or how God will heal the symptoms you might be feeling? Not exactly.

In Romans 1:16, Paul says, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek." In other words, the gospel is the power of God to provide salvation for every who believes. Believe in what or who? In Mark 16:15-16, the Master says, "And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned."

The gospel is God's invitation to alignment with Himself, which was sponsored by the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. And the person who believes in this invitation escapes eternal damnation, for all who come to the world are already damned. Romans 3:23 tells us, "...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..."

However, to share the good news, three ingredients must be present; otherwise, it stands false. The first is the acknowledgment of sin. And everyone who comes into this world has broken the law of God. Galatians 3:24 says, "Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith." God's law reveals sin, and to appreciate the good news, one must acknowledge a previous state of being alienated from God. There can be no gospel with the law. Next is the component of righteousness. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." Lastly, the gospel must convey God's justice. There will be a Judgement Day with two outcomes for believers and non-believers.

In Matthew 13:41-43, Jesus lets us know that at this judgment, "The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!"

The sharing of the gospel is a heavy assignment that must be handled carefully, which is why Paul prayed that we might make its mystery known as we ought to.

Many need to hear the gospel from your mouth; otherwise, they may be lost forever. Make bold to share it today.

God bless you!

Faith-Filled Confession:

I am a dispenser of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am dutiful to share the whole counsel of God and not the things my hearers might want to hear. I declare that I am helped by God in this area of declaring the message of life in God without a sense of fear, political correctness, or shame. I offer the gospel wholly, and many come to the brightness of its light. Hallelujah!

Prayer of Affirmation :

I affirm that I am the light of the world. Whoever comes in contact with me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life. I am in God's place for my life; for God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in my heart.
