LOVE IS GIVING

"A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so also you must love one another. By this, all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”
— John 13:34–35
Love is the hallmark of the Christian life. Scripture tells us in 1 John 4:8, “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” Love is not only who God is—it is also what God does. Love is active. Love expresses itself. Love gives.
John 3:16 reveals this beautifully: “For God so loved the world that He gave…” God didn’t merely declare His love; He demonstrated it. He expressed His love through the greatest gift—Jesus. Hallelujah!
Child of God, genuine love always gives. The love of God within you compels you toward generosity. As believers, we cannot be content merely knowing that our own needs are met; God calls us to see and respond to the needs of others. Galatians 6:10 instructs us, “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
Have you considered those in your local assembly? That single mother doing her best? That child who needs new shoes? That father who is standing strong but could use support? Love moves us from acknowledgement to action. Jesus said in John 13:34–35 that our love for one another is the evidence—the unmistakable proof—of our discipleship. When we give, we not only bless the recipient; we also communicate the gospel to everyone watching.
As this year winds down and you make plans for you and your family, be intentional about extending Christ’s love to others in your church family. You are a reservoir of God’s blessings—His chosen channel. Let His love flow through you in generosity.
God bless you.
Faith-Filled Confession
Thank You, Father, for Your abundant blessings in my life. Open my eyes to see the needs around me and grant me the wisdom, compassion, and ability to meet them. I choose to express Your love through my giving. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
