LOOK BACK AND GIVE THANKS

12/31/2022

"You crown the year with Your goodness, and Your paths drop fatness" (Psalm 65:11).

As I reflect on this year, I am reminded of God's faithfulness, grace and mercy. And I can testify that it has been nothing short of that for all of us.  The Psalmist said in Psalm 119:105-106, "By your words I can see where I'm going; they throw a beam of light on my dark path." By the grace of God, we have successfully navigated through 2022 even when it didn’t appear that some of us will be where we are right now. But God! I dare someone to scream GLORY!

Maybe you had planned to buy a house this year, but now, the year is ending with you still renting, shout glory! That you are here today is a testimony of His goodness and faithfulness to you.  Maybe you had hoped to go back to school but couldn't because of financial and family situation. Maybe you thought you will be engaged by now and be married. Still, shout glory! If the Spirit of God opened your eyes to see the many victories that you won this year and the many dangers that were averted, the challenges that you faced would pale in comparison.

So do not look back with regrets or complaints. Instead, reflect on the year with thanksgiving. Thank God for the things that happened and the ones that did not happen as planned. And never give up hope because, in the remaining moments of 2022, that miracle that you so desire can still happen! Psalm 65:11 says that the Lord crowns the year with His goodness and His paths drop fatness. So expect His goodness today.

As you look forward to the new year, look forward with great excitement and expectation. Refuse to see yourself through the eyes of your situation or the eyes of others. Only see yourself through the eyes of God's Word, and whatever you see in God's word dare to be. Dare to be it because that's the true you. Each day in 2023 promises something glorious. Proverbs 4:18 says, "The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day."  So arise from the place of frustration, comparison, defeat, and depression and shine and soar high because the hand of God is still upon you. As you transition into 2023, look out for words from the Spirit of God because, by His words, your safe journey is assured, victorious, prosperous and filled with thunderous testimony.

Glory to God!

Faith-Filled Confession:

I want to say a BIG, "THANK YOU, LORD! IT HAS BEEN YOUR FAITHFULNESS, GREAT AND MERCY THAT HAS KEPT ME AND MY FAMILY." I have no regrets. Forgetting the past, I press on with renewed faith and hope in God's Word and will navigate the upcoming year by His Word and with the Holy Spirit as my guide. IN JESUS NAME
