LIVE FROM YOUR SPIRIT

Updated: Jun 11

“Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”— Matthew 26:41 (KJV)

As a born-again believer, you are not ordinary. When you received Jesus, you received a brand-new spirit—just like Christ’s. Right now, in your spirit, you are identical to Him. “…as He is, so are we in this world.” — 1 John 4:17 (KJV)

Everything God deposited in you—His power, wisdom, and righteousness—was placed in your spirit. You are 100% a spiritual being, possessing a soul and living in a body. The sooner you embrace this, the more victorious your walk with God becomes.

Here is something I want you to understand, the spirit and the flesh are at war. The one that dominates will determine your daily experience.

  • If your spirit gains dominion, expect the supernatural: peace, joy, victory, and clarity.

  • If your flesh dominates, your life—even as a believer—will look no different from someone unsaved: confusion, defeat, and spiritual barrenness.

“The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.”— Romans 8:6 (NIV)

Jesus said, “Watch and pray…” because He knew the flesh is weak, even when the spirit is willing. Operating from the flesh is operating from weakness. But when you live from your spirit, you’re living from your place of power.

“Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”— Galatians 5:24 (NIV)

That means the flesh has already been dealt with. Your responsibility is to keep it crucified. Like Apostle Paul said: “I beat my body and make it my slave…” — 1 Corinthians 9:27 (NIV)

Paul wasn’t speaking of physical harm but spiritual discipline—bringing his body under submission so his spirit could lead. When your spirit leads, the power of God flows unhindered.

Here’s how to exercise your spirit:

  • Pray, especially in tongues – this lifts your spiritual antennas and sharpens your hearing.

  • Do the Word – reading it isn’t enough. Live it.

  • Renew your mind – replace carnal thoughts with the truth of Scripture.

When the Word says your flesh is crucified, your confession should be: “My flesh is crucified. I refuse to obey it. I live from my spirit.”

When temptation arises, don’t cave in. Enforce the Word. When lust whispers, when anger rises, when offense knocks—declare: “I live from my spirit!” That’s your place of dominion and victory.

Faith-Filled Confession

Today, I give no occasion to sin or to the flesh. I function from my place of strength—my spirit. I showcase the God-life in all areas: in my mind, my emotions, my choices, and my actions. I walk in the power of the Spirit, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Prayer Point

Psalm 18:29

For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.

1.     Pray and declare that the brethren are marvelously HELPED by God.

Romans 8:28

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

2.      Pray and declare that the brethren will continue to enjoy divine advantages in every area of their lives such as the ministry of angels and that the word will continue to make  them fruitful and effective in the name of the Lord Jesus.

Jude 1:24-25 says, “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

3. Pray for those whom Satan is stirring off  the course of their calling in Christ through various temptations and trials.

4. Pray that their faith fail not, that they be strengthened by the Spirit in their inner man, triumphing by the Word sown in their hearts, and their faith prevails in all circumstances.

5. Declare that they hold fast to their calling, living in and by the Word, irrespective of circumstances, that they may finish their course with joy, bringing glory to the Father in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
