LET JERUSALEM COME TO YOUR MIND: MEDITATE

11/28/2022

"You who have escaped the sword, Get away! Do not stand still! Remember the LORD afar off, And let Jerusalem come to your mind." (Jeremiah 51:50)

Jerusalem is the conclave of the elect of God, His family in heaven and on earth. When you got saved, you became a bonafide citizen of this Jerusalem. Now, I am not talking about the current capital of the State of Israel, no. This Jerusalem is comprehensively described in scripture.

The Bible says, "...you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel" (Hebrews 12:22-24).

Even though you live in Abuja, Dayton, Oakville or wherever you are more presently situated in this Heavenly Jerusalem which is also referred to as Zion. And there is a way that people talk there that is very estranged from the way people talk normally. Isaiah 33:24 gives us a hint when it says, "And no resident of Zion will say, “I am sick.” The people who dwell there will be forgiven of iniquity." (Isaiah 33:24 BSB). In essence, it is not lawful for someone living in our city to say he or she is sick if Jerusalem comes to mind because it is an environment where no sickness can survive.

But what about the believer who is experiencing symptoms or has been diagnosed with a terminal illness? Fantastic. I ask that believer to meditate on Hebrews 12:22-24 for a month, morning and evening, each time, meditating for an hour, and then go back to the doctor to check. Meditating in the Bible is a process that entails pondering scriptures, muttering under your breath, saying it in a normal tone and then roaring it as the import of it dawns on your conscious mind.

Hear me, the altitude of the Heavenly Jerusalem is too high for sickness, adversity, addictions or any other sin to survive there. Meditate on our Jerusalem today and unleash liberty. Galatians 4:26 says, "...the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all."

As an aside, if you have never meditated biblically before, feel free to reach out to any of our pastors, life group leaders, or department leaders or by email at info@gracehousechurch.org and we will be happy to help.

Have a beautiful day.

Faith-Filled Confession

I dwell in the Heavenly Jerusalem and because I do, sickness and sin are foreign to my existence. Every symptom and temptation is a lie, a mirage with no foundation and I live in Jerusalem above. Hallelujah!
