LAYING HOLD ON ETERNAL LIFE: PRAYER

06/05/2024

“Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart…”(Luke 18:1)

After meditation, prayer is the next important step to laying hold of eternal life.

Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.” Everlasting life or eternal life are translations of the Greek word, “Zoe,” which means, the God kind of life. Now, it’s not enough to have this God kind of life according to John 6:47, you need to know how to distinguish yourself with it, in this world.

In 1 Timothy 6:12, you are admonished to “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”

Yesterday, we broached the subject of laying hold on eternal life through meditation. Meditating on the scriptures helps you take a hold of the unseen realities in it. But beyond taking a hold of these realities, it is pertinent to bring them into the physical realm. This is where prayer is all important. By prayer, we authorize the realities of the Word from heaven to the earth.

1 Timothy 2:1-3 gives a hint of the products of prayer, "Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior..."

Very often, some believers pray and do not get answers because they skip the meditation part of laying hold on eternal life. Hear me, all your prayers ought to receive an answer. There is nothing that you lay hold on in meditation that will elude you in prayer. When you meditate, you gain a God-confidence and when you pray based on God-confidence, answers are assured.

The next step after you have prayed is prophecy but you must understand that your meditation provides accuracy for your prayers and your prayers order your prophecies.

Have an excellent day!

Faith-Filled Confession

I am a person of prayer, knowing that the efficacy of my prayers are sharpened by my meditation on God's Word. Because I take hold of the unseen realities of the Word of God in meditation, victory is secured cheaply every time I pray about anything in Jesus' name. Amen.

Prayer Direction

  • Pray over your family declaring that each day this month will usher in good news.

  • Declare that they are delivered from every form of evil and wickedness in Jesus' name

  • Refute every claim of failure, stagnation, and death over them in Jesus' name

  • Declare that your day is full of the mercy, grace, and goodness of God. That favor follows you everywhere today in Jesus' name.
