IT'S FAITH TIME

10/5/2023

"You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?" (James 2:19-20)

Nothing is as futile as Christianity without the demonstration of power. In fact, the demonstration of the power of the Spirit is what separates us from the rest of the world. No other being can lay claim to the signs listed in Mark 18:17-18. We, who have been born of the Spirit, are the only ones to whom Satan submits. And this is why you must refuse any form of Christianity void of power. Such life is tantamount to vain philosophy, and not what Jesus died to make available to us.

The Christian walk is a faith walk, and the faith walk is a power walk. Yet, for many years, many have construed faith to be believing. But before we define faith in the context of demonstration and manifestation, it is important to note what faith is not.

Faith is not believing. Believing is akin to hope. Faith also is not mental assent. Rather, the Bible says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). In other words, faith is the substantiation or demonstration of the things you believe in the Word of God and the manifesting of unseen realities.

Today's theme scripture says, "Faith without works is dead..." (James 2: 20). By "works," the Bible means a corresponding action. In other words, we are obligated to act out every scripture written about us in the Bible. For example, the Bible says of us,"...these signs will follow those who believe: In My name, they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover" (Mark 16:17-18). Faith then would mean casting out devils, healing the sick, speaking in tongues, etc., without second-guessing whether it would work. Luke 1:37 says, "For no word from God will ever fail." The fact that the stars have not fallen to the earth proves that God's Word is living and active.

Aside from acting on the scripture, faith is also acting, without hesitation, on the instructions or the Rhema word that the Lord inputs into our spirits. Acting on the Rhema word of God is even more critical in this hour. Jesus implied this when He said, "'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.' (Matthew 4:4). Faith is, therefore, the demonstration of every Word that God speaks to you.

Brothers and sisters, it's faith time. So, I invite you to punctuate today's message by speaking in tongues. If there is any instruction that the Lord has been inputting in your heart these past few days, act it out quickly.

God bless you.

Faith-Filled Confession

I am a Faith-Child of a Faith-God, and by faith, I am manifesting God's dominion over every adverse situation or circumstance that comes my way today. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Prayer Points

Gal 5:25: "Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit's leading in every part of our lives."

  1. Pray that God's people will be filled with the inspiration of the Word, causing them to walk in the Spirit.

  2. Pray for those who are drifting away from their faith. Pray that they will be delivered from every form of delusion and deception.

  3. Pray that they are no longer children tossed to and fro and that Christ may be formed in their hearts as they are strengthened in those things that are most surely believed among us. (Lk 1:3, Eph 4:14)
