"For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned" (Matthew 12:37).
The Bible is our guide for living victoriously. While reading it multiple times is commendable, this knowledge must bear fruit in our lives, reflecting the abundant life Christ died to give us.
I once heard someone say, "I have been following Jesus since my youth," and when asked how, they responded, "I have been going to church." Attending church from a young age is wonderful, but truly following Jesus means walking in and reflecting the light of His Word and all that He brought us through His death. Jesus said in John 8:12, “I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” We follow Jesus by living according to His Word, aligning our lives with His eternal victory over evil and the corrupting influences of the world, thus living victoriously regardless of circumstances.
Our theme scripture highlights the connection between victorious living in Christ and our confession. Jesus says, “For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned” (Matthew 12:37). This means we hold the power of victory or failure in our words, not external factors like government or circumstances of birth. The power is in your mouth.
Listen, child of God, some aspects of your life will not change until your confession aligns with the Word of God. Once you are born again and indwelt by the Holy Spirit, God is no longer responsible for your circumstances; your words are. Jesus could have said by your prayers, you are justified or condemned. But He didn't; instead, He said by your words.
Consider someone who constantly speaks of death, misery, and frustration. They may pray endlessly, but until their confession aligns with the Word, they will continue to experience death and frustration. Proverbs 18:21 says, "The power of the tongue is life and death—those who love to talk will eat what it produces." Your success or failure is determined by your words, not others.
No adversary can bring you down when you consistently speak God's Words. Many blame their parents, the government, or various institutions for their failures, but until their confession aligns with God's Word, they will continue to suffer. Let me reiterate: God does not determine the outcome of your life; the power is in your mouth. Praise God!
Faith-Filled Confession:
Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I thank You for Your life that is at work in every fiber of my being, every cell of my blood, and every bone of my body. My whole being is immune to death, decay, and the corrupting influences in the world! My path is the path of life, righteousness, joy, gladness, and peace forevermore. Christ is my life, and in Him, I live, move, and have my being. Hallelujah!
