“For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6).
There is a targeted way to pray for the lost. And by the lost, I am specifically referring to those who are stubborn about their non-belief in Jesus. The self-professed atheists, the religious, the morally reprobate, and practitioners of witchcraft. The way to pray is to invoke the light of God into their hearts.
The Bible describes this light as “the light [that] shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it” (John 1:5) for two reasons. First, it is a light that gives sight of Jesus. 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 explains, “But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.” There is a veil over the hearts of those who practice wickedness that has been put there by Satan. Invoking the light of God removes this veil so that they can see Jesus.
The other thing that light does is burn off uncertainty and confusion about Jesus. “Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it,and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight. And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:30-32)
There is a way to invoke light into the hearts of people. It starts by speaking in tongues requesting that the light of God flood the heart of the targeted individual. Imagine that one receiving the light of God as you pray until you receive a note of peace in your heart. Next, you take the next immediate opportunity to share the gospel with that person. Irrespective of the outcome of the encounter, even if he/she refuses your message outwardly, the heart of that one would have been captured by the love and light of God.
In the spirit realm, what transpires in the heart of your listener when you follow these steps is explained in Ezekiel 2:2: “Then the Spirit entered me when He spoke to me, and set me on my feet; and I heard Him who spoke to me.”
This entry is all that is required. Keep following up until this one comes with you to church. Have a blessed day!
God bless you.
Faith-Filled Confession
I have been made a sharp threshing instrument to bring in the sheaves of the Master with rejoicing. I thresh the mountains of stubbornness and unbelief into chaff. My words proceed as light into the hearts of my hearers, causing sight and burning off doubts and arguments. Jesus is unveiled to my hearers and salvation follows. Hallelujah!
Prayer Points
Pray for school boards, fire departments, and local police across America. Pray that the purposes of our Lord the Savior are established through their work; that mass salvations and the proliferation of the truth of the gospel are the outcome of all the work that these people put in.
Pray that a fresh revelation of the Name, essence, and agenda of Jesus Christ seizes the public imagination in America and that before the end of this year, films, books, and legislation that normalize salvation and the truth of the Gospel become widespread across the country.
Lastly, pray for evangelistic efforts in the form of music festivals, citywide church crusades, and revivals; these events will receive massive receptions in the form of council permits, large attendance, and explosive salvations.
