IN THE NAME OF JESUS

"For this reason also [because He obeyed and so completely humbled Himself], God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW [in submission], of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess and openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord (sovereign God), to the glory of God the Father" (Philippians 2:9-11).

Names represent power and authority. Every name carries some level of power and authority.  Philippians 2:9 says concerning the name of Jesus, that God ".. exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name." This means that all power and authority is vested in the name of Jesus (Matthew 28:18). 

Everything that has a name, living or nonliving, is subject to the name of Jesus. And as God's children, we have been given the authority to use His Name.  The name of Jesus is exalted above every other name. Each time you mention the name of Jesus, it echoes in heaven, earth, and hell. At the mention of the name of Jesus, every demon and agent of darkness is shaken! When you use the name of Jesus, everything that contradicts the name of Jesus in your life bows. Every plan, strategy, and intention of darkness is disrupted. This is why we should never go a day without calling or using the name of Jesus.

The apostles knew the power and the authority that was in the name of Jesus. They used the name at every opportunity they had. This is one reason why notable miracles were commonplace in their lives. Acts 3:6 says, "Then Peter said," Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have given I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk." Peter chose to use the name of Jesus instead of offering this man money because he understood that the power in the name was greater than anything money could buy. Peter was fully persuaded that if this lame man came in contact with what he had--the name of Jesus--the lame man would be healed. 

We, too, must be fully persuaded that when we use the name of Jesus, every chain will have to break. It does not matter if it is a spiritual or physical chain. We must believe that the name of Jesus can cause the blind to see, the lame to walk, body parts to grow back, heal every disease, and raise the dead back to life! The name of Jesus calms storms and makes the impossible possible. However, to reap the benefits, you must exercise the authority that is in the name.

Psalms 118: 26 says, "For blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord..." No door can remain closed after you have mentioned the name of Jesus. So, when you face opposing forces, use the name! Boldly exercise the authority you have in Jesus' name, and watch doors open unto you.

Faith-Filled Confession:

The Lord Jesus is exalted in my life. He is above every situation or challenge that comes my way. I am confident of the power that is in the name of Jesus. Therefore, I declare in the name of Jesus that I am in health; I have rest on every side. I have been severed from darkness and all its manifestations. I live the God-life now. I prosper all day and in all things, in Jesus' name, Amen.
