IMITATE GOD, NOT THE WORLD

"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God" (Hebrews 12:1-2).
There is immense power, peace, joy, and a profound sense of fulfillment when you align yourself with the light of your divine calling. You are not defined by bitterness, so why allow the bitterness of others to influence you? You are not bound by sickness or lack, so why entertain thoughts or actions that reinforce such limitations? Why conform to the ways of the world when you've been called out of it? As Jesus taught, "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 5:14-16).
In other words, imitate God, not the world, and this means embodying the words of Job 22:29: "When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, there is lifting up, and he shall save the humble person." It means being a source of hope amidst adversity. You are not the one who is downtrodden, despondent, ill, or defeated; it is the world, and all that is of it. Those who have yet to know Jesus are entrenched in earthly struggles, divisive attitudes, frustration, chaos, defeat, complaints, jealousy, sickness, hopelessness, and helplessness—but not you. 1 Peter 2:9 affirms, "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God's] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light."
So if the world is plagued with sickness, live healed. If poor, live rich. If defeated, live victorious. If bitter, live joyfully. If confused, embody purposefulness and live intentionally. If vengeful, embody peace and live harmoniously. In other words, God is saying that we must never conduct ourselves like the people of the world. There is too much Heaven in us to reflect their defeat. The Apostle Paul eloquently articulates this in Philippians 2:14-16: "Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, "children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation." Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life…"
My friend, the world is already overflowing with discord, illness, and despair. Yet, if there's anything lacking in this world, it is you! Therefore, embody and exemplify your divine essence! By doing so, the world around you will begin to reflect the Heaven that is within you.
Have a beautiful day, and make it a beautiful one for everyone you encounter. God bless you!
