HUMILITY IS REVEALED IN FAITH-FILLED WORDS

07/13/2023

"When they cast you down, and you say, 'Exaltation will come!' Then He will save the humble person" (Job 22:29).

Humility and pride are not just dispositions. Both are apparent to God in your confession. In today's theme scripture, the Bible ties confession of the Word of God to humility. It says, "When they cast you down, and you say, 'Exaltation will come!' Then He (God) will save the humble person" (Job 22:29). In other words, humility is not necessarily in the outward show of subservience but in the alignment of one's thoughts, words and actions with the Word of God. Proverbs 29:23 says, "A man's pride will bring him low, But the humble in spirit will retain honor."

But what is pride? Pride is saying or acting outside the dictates of God's Word. And this is where we often miss it. We often assume that pride is being braggadocious. On the contrary, the LORD wants us to be braggadocious as a mark of humility. Jeremiah 9:23-24 says, "Thus says the LORD: "Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these, I delight," says the LORD."

Child of God, the LORD would have us reacquaint ourselves with his Word, speak it profusely, and demonstrate it everywhere we find ourselves as a mark of humility. Now it is important we take responsibility for our own humbling and not have the LORD do it for us. Recall that in the Book of Daniel, the LORD humbled the Emperor of Babylon to the point where Nebuchadnezzar admitted, "Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down." (Daniel 4:37).

Humble yourself by studying, speaking, and demonstrating God's Word. The Bible says, "And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be based, and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted" (Matthew 23:12).

God bless you..

Faith-Filled Confession

I study, speak, and demonstrate the Word of God as a renewed commitment to being humble before the LORD. My God lifts me up in every sphere of life because He has made me the head and not the tail, above only and never beneath. Glory to God!

Prayer Point for Today

Luke 10:2 says, '…The harvest truly is great, …pray ye, therefore, the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth laborers into his harvest.

Declare words of blessings on your city and nation, and pray that they come into the knowledge of God's will and grace, for the earth is filled with His goodness.

Pray fervidly in tongues of the Spirit; and pray more thrust of laborers into the harvest fields of our cities and nation. Declare this day to be the day of salvation and healing for the nations.
