"But He gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble" (James 4:6).
Hebrews 11 is full of men and women who yielded themselves to the Holy Spirit, and as a result, became an icon of the supernatural in their days. The Bible says concerning Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and the prophets, that they "… through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions. Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection" (Hebrews 11:33-35). What a testimony! All because these individuals made a deliberate decision to submit to God's Word.
These men were not even born again or filled with the Holy Spirit; still, their faith in God produced mind blowing testimonies. And God is not a respecter of persons. If you do what they did, you will get what they got. Better still, God will do more in and through you if you will humble yourself under the authority of His Word.
Jesus is an excellent example of one who lived and humbled Himself by abiding by His Father's words. As a result, He too became an icon of divinity, exemplifying the supernatural life. The Bible says in John 21:25 that if all that He did had been written down, the whole world would not contain the books that would be written. Meaning, every step He took was the Spirit in manifestation. Mark 6:56 says, "And wherever He went--into villages, towns or countryside--they placed the sick in the marketplaces. They begged Him to let them touch even the edge of His cloak, and all who touched it were healed." I believe His "good morning" cast out devils. And it wasn't because He was Jesus (The Holy Ghost's offspring). He did all that He did because He yielded Himself entirely to the will of His Father.
Again and again, Jesus would say, "For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me." Had Jesus gone about His own agenda, even though He was the Son of God, the anointing would have been corrupted. Saints, you are no different from Jesus. Like Jesus, you have the Holy Spirit, the life, and the nature of God. The missing ingredient may just be your submission to the Word. When that is in place, not only will you produce Jesus' kind of results, but you will do much more! (John 14:12)
Jesus humbled Himself, abandoning His own will for the will of His Father. The will of the Father is for you to walk in love, so why are you still walking around with a cloak of offense around your neck. James 4:6 tells us that the Father gives more grace only to those who are humble. On the other hand, He opposes the proud. A proud person opposes God's Word, acts contrary to the Word, and has not brought their will under the Word's authority. In other words, the one that wants to justify his bitterness and offense is proud, and the Scripture says that God will resist such a person.
Saints, this world is already full of people who are going nowhere in life. So, do not join their crowd because of offense. Instead, do what Jesus said, love your enemies and pray for those who spitefully use you. Humble yourself, my dearly beloved. God has called you for something greater. Don't allow the behaviors of others to stop. Look past their shortcomings and see if God will not elevate you.
All is well.
Faith-Filled Confession:
Thank You, Father, that I am rooted and grounded in love. I have received the power to comprehend the length and width and height and depth of Your love, and I have come to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge. Hence, I am filled with all the fullness of God. Amen (Ephesians 3:18-19).
