"Therefore take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." (Ephesians 6:13)
There is an evil day when the tempter goes on a rampage. It's a day that the word of God in you goes on trial. But make no mistake, Satan has no chance prevailing against you as long as you are standing in the Word. For the scriptures declares in 1 Corinthians 10:13 AMP "No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy]." Hallelujah!
The Bible captures Peter's evil day and also gives us an insight into how to respond to that day. Luke 22:31-32 says, "And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat, But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” Analyzing the words of Jesus, the evil day is best described as a day in the future when the tempter has free rein to test the saints of God and based on their response, even wreck as much havoc as they allow.
The enemy plans ahead of this day by collecting evidence and presenting arguments before God that would allow him to test you based on the word of God that you have been taught. "So Satan answered the LORD and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing? Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land" (Job 1:9-10). The general knowledge of Job in the spirit realm was that God had fenced him around with blessings. But the enemy also kept a dossier of Job and we know by Job's admission that despite God's protection and blessing, he harboured an illogical fear, which is a contradiction. Job said, "...the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, And what I dreaded has happened to me" (Job 3:25). In other words, even when he had no reason to be afraid, he was afraid, and by virtue of his fear, he prolonged his evil day when it came.
Now, there are two ways to recognize an evil day and two ways to respond. The two ways to recognize an evil day are first by the promotion of God. Whenever God, announces or promotes you in the spirit realm, an evil day follows. God announced Job and an evil day followed. He also announced Jesus and the tempter showed up. The other way that you recognize an evil day is by the fruit of that day. What do I mean? There's a season of intimidation, sensuality and outright demonic manifestation either physically or through the soul realm through thoughts and dreams. The moment you experience any of these in your soul, understand that the tester is present and the word of God that you know is now on trial.
The way to respond is twofold. You either respond ahead of the evil day by maintaining your grip on the Word through faith filled confessions and walking in the light of the Word and by daily prayer quota as prescribed by the Holy Ghost to you or in the middle of an evil day, you cast down every dream, thoughts or imagination and by going on the offense in prayer (I recommend praying in the spirit). As you pray, be mindful of the instructions of the Holy Spirit and act on them quickly. The evil day is almost always characterized by evil suggestive thoughts (sudden fear) that must be put down by faith filled confessions. Saints, victory is yours in Jesus name. So, stand therefore in the Word. Be unmovable in the midst or any situation that you may find yourself. Keep speaking and walking in the light of God's Word. It is your verbal (faith filled words) response that will deliver you on the evil day.
Speak in tongues now!
Faith-Filled Confession
I present a solid front on the evil day. I am stalwart in the word of God and unmoved by any satanic machinations whatsoever. In the realm of the spirit, the One that reigns in me is greater than the price of this world. Therefore, I stand in the evil day and I do not stumble, in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus. Amen
