“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.(Mark 11:24)
You are a supernatural personality in this world, with unlimited resources at your disposal. There is absolutely nothing you need that hasn’t already been provided for you. Romans 8:32 declares, “He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all—how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?”
This means there is nothing you can’t have. The Father delights in you just as He delights in Jesus. It is His good pleasure to give you the Kingdom and the whole world (Romans 8:17; Hebrews 1:2). Jesus said something profound in John 16:26–27: “In that day you will ask in My name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. No, the Father Himself loves you because you have loved Me and have believed that I came from God.”
This statement should completely destroy every “I am not worthy” mentality that has derailed the faith of many. As a child of God, everything is already at your disposal (1 Corinthians 3:21–22). All you need to do is ask in faith.
Someone might ask, “If all things are mine, why do I have to ask?” Think about how your bank account works: the money in it is yours, but you still need to make a withdrawal to access it. In the same way, prayer is not begging God for something; it is making a faith-based request for what already belongs to you.
When you pray without the understanding that what you’re asking for is already yours, you are unlikely to receive it because such a prayer isn’t made in faith. There is a prayer of faith, and there is a prayer of unbelief. The prayer of faith affirms what has already been accomplished in Christ—it is the prayer of appropriation.
Romans 10:6–9 explains this beautifully: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ (that is, to bring Christ down) or ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? ‘The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,’ that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim.”
No amount of prayer or fasting can change the finished work of Christ. Your role is to align yourself with what has already been done and affirm it over your life. Praise God!
Consider a prayer like this: “O Lord, I am a terrible sinner. Please give me peace and joy; I am unworthy…” Such a prayer will not move God because it is not in line with His Word. God is a faith God—He responds to His Word, not to human emotions or pity. His Word is His standard and it is limitless!
Instead, a prayer of appropriation sounds like this: “Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You that Your divine ability is at work in me. I am conscious of my divinity today. I walk in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. My life is excellent and full of the demonstration of Your Spirit. Hallelujah!”
This kind of prayer stirs your spirit and positions you for victory and prosperity. Remember: faith always affirms the Word. And as Jesus said, “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
Faith-Filled Confession
Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus, I thank You that divine prosperity, favor, health, and ability are at work in me today. I do not make haste; I am conscious of my divinity. I function in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. I live an excellent life full of the demonstration of Your Spirit. Today, I bless my world with Your presence. Hallelujah!
