HOW TO PRAY AND RECEIVE YOUR MIRACLE

4/4/2025

"'And when you pray, do not heap up phrases (multiply words, repeating the same ones over and over) as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard for their much speaking" (Matthew 6:7).

While listening to the radio not long ago, I heard a man on the radio say, "Lord, I just need a same-day delivery answer to my prayer." Then I thought to myself; isn't that what praying in the name of Jesus guarantees according to Mark 11:24 and 1 John 5:14? So what then is it with the same-day delivery answer to prayer, when the prayer was said in the name of Jesus? Child of God, no matter how big or common a practice or saying is among Christians, you must endeavor to check it out for yourself.

Many do not receive answers to their prayers because of a wrong understanding of prayer and of how prayer works. This wrong understanding, many times, is the result of false teachings on the subject of prayer; teachings that do not accord to the person of Jesus and His eternal accomplished work. A prayer like, "Father, give me a same-day delivery answer to my prayer" is a demonstration of such false understanding; it has no scriptural basis or bearing.  Jesus never instructed us to pray that way. He said, "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (Mark 11:24). In other words, the place of prayer is also the place for receiving and your faith is paramount in your receiving from God. Hebrews 11:6 tells us, “But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” You must also make sure that you are praying according to His will, which is His Word. If you can find it in His Word, then you can release your faith for it. And after you have asked, believe that you have received and then receive!

As you pray today, believe that you have received what you have asked the Father for in the name of Jesus and be mindful not to use fillers. Let your prayers be specific. Jesus said in Matthew 6:7, "And when you pray, do not heap up phrases (multiply words, repeating the same ones over and over) as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard for their much speaking." And after your you have prayed, let your mannerism reflect your faith. Do not go back to the Lord to ask for a same-day delivery answer because your delivery confirmation is your confidence in God's Word. So, receive instantly in prayer.

God bless you.

Faith-Filled Confession

By faith, I lay hold of all that is mine in Christ Jesus. I refuse to live a beggarly life. I exercise my rights of sonship and the authority I have in the name of Jesus. I declare that my best days are now. Doors of opportunities are opened to me. Goodness, mercy, favor, health, wealth, joy and peace accompany me every day of my life. In Jesus name, Amen

Prayer Points

  • 2 Thessalonians 2:3 (AMPC) says: "Let no one deceive or beguile you in any way, for that day will not come except the apostasy comes first [unless the predicted great falling away of those who have professed to be Christians has come], and the man of lawlessness (sin) is revealed, who is the son of doom (of perdition).”

  • Colossians 4:12: "Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God."

  • 1 Corinthians 15:58: "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."

  1. Thank the Lord for His grace and mercies that enable us to live in victory throughout the month of April. Declare that none of us will lack wisdom, direction, inspiration, or strength for productivity.

  2. Pray for our brethren, that more than ever, they will stay focused on Christ and the things of the Kingdom, and they will not be distracted by the transient pleasures of this world.

  3. Declare that our brethren are established in Christ, deeply rooted and grounded in Him. They remain steadfast, unmovable, and abound in the work of the Lord with joy.
