"Restore our fortunes, LORD, like watercourses in the Negev." (Psalm 126:4 HCSB)
If God has done something before, it is a sure sign that He will do it again. The woman with the issue of blood who testified in Mark 5:27 about getting healed from touching the hem of Jesus' garment, led many to touch the hem of Jesus' garment in Mark 6:56. The Bible says, "Wherever He entered, into villages, cities, or the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged Him that they might just touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched Him were made well." Notice that when the woman shared her testimony, there were so many people present that day.
This is the technology by which YAHWEH restores the fortunes of His people and the Bible tells us that this technology is like watercourses or streams in the Negev. Pictorially, the Lord is saying that just as a natural drainage system with tributaries empties into a delta, that is how He restores the fortunes of His people.
Watercourses or streams are metaphors for testimonies given among the saints in an assembly with the potential to replicate themselves with a greater magnitude of manifestation. The Psalmist describes this phenomenon more aptly when he says, " A Song of Ascents. Of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the LORD commanded the blessing— Life forevermore." (Psalm 133:1-3)
This is why attending testimony services this month is important. Every testimony is like a watercourse flowing southward to the delta with all its goodies. Restoration of fortunes is God's reason for asking us to share and listen to testimonies. And this is why you must come to the assembly of God with a testimony. The Bible says, "...Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification" (1 Corinthian 14:26).
Interestingly, a psalm, teaching, tongue, revelation or interpretation may all be encapsulated in a testimony of the greatness of the LORD among God's people. If He did it before, He will do it again. Testify!
Faith-Filled Confession
I testify of the goodness of the LORD. With my mouth, I make known His faithfulness from everlasting to everlasting. Hallelujah!
