GOD'S RESERVATION OF FIRE

"For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men" (2 Peter 3:5-6).
For quite a while, the message of global warming has been preached across the mainstream media and academic world. They have touted statistics about carbon emissions and come up with concepts like climate change, climate crisis, and carbon neutrality to back up their assertions or tell us what to do. The halls of human wisdom have proffered solutions like terminating beef consumption, using electric vehicles, and the like.
But we know from today's theme scripture that by the same word that God promised that the earth would never again be judged by floods (and you can find this in Genesis 9:13-14), the earth has also been reserved for fire until ungodly people face judgment. This idea of "Global warming" supports the evidence of the divine reservation that God has made in lieu of the final judgment of the ungodly.
What this should mean to the believer as the earth gets warmer and warmer is that we are running out of time to evangelize. It should even be a conversation starter when people complain about the weather getting hotter. "You think this is hot? Phew...! You don't want to know how hell will feel." And then, segue into telling them how to avoid ending up in that horrible place.
The Bible suggests that the weather patterns are witnesses of God and as people blame climate change for woes and human suffering, they are unknowingly attesting to the coming judgment of the ungodly. Acts 14:17 says, "Nevertheless He [God] did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness." If God uses the seasons to testify of His goodness, He also does so of His wrath.
Preparing for His coming means that we conduct ourselves in a godly fashion and warn others of what's coming. 2 Peter 3:11 NIV says, "Since everything will be destroyed in this way [by fire], what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives." And part of living godly involves warning others too.
As we reach out in prayers and intercession for places like Maui in Hawaii, Kelowna, and Yellowknife in Canada, pray not just for the safety of those populations but that mass salvations will be recorded among the affected in Jesus' name.
Have a beautiful day!
Faith-Filled Confession
I am a watchman for Jesus Christ. And as I conduct myself in godliness, many are saved by the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am helped by the Lord to affect the world in near and distant lands. In Jesus' name. Amen
Prayer Point
Jesus said, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15). We must be passionate about His mandate.
Isaiah 2:2 says, "And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it."
Pray earnestly in tongues of the Spirit with thanksgiving for service yesterday, and also for the salvation of souls in all nations, causing a mighty flow of people into the house of God.
Pray also for those falsely incarcerated for crimes they didn't commit, that the Lord would grant them grace for a speedy and miraculous release.
