GOD'S EMBASSY

04/19/2024

"We are of good courage then and are well pleased rather to be abroad from the body and at home with the Lord. Therefore also we are determined, whether at home or abroad, to gain the honor of being well pleasing to Him" (2 Corinthians 5:8-9 Recovery Version),

Today's theme scripture is very instructive of the truth that we are Christ's ambassadors and our bodies are His embassy. An ambassador is a representative of a sovereign in a foreign country just as we are on earth. The job of ambassadors requires communicating with the sovereign in the home country as constantly as possible to be able to execute the sovereign's will in the place of their assignment.

As long as you are here on earth, you are abroad and your job entails being able to communicate the mind of Jesus to the people around you. Aside from this, all of your provisions and needs, necessary to complete the task abroad, are the sole responsibility of the sovereign.

The implication of being alive and in your body today is that you have an ambassadorship for which you must give account to the Sovereign of the universe. 2 Corinthians 5:10 tells us, "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad." There will be an accounting of the things you did in God's embassy.

Therefore, you cannot afford not to receive instructions from headquarters on a momentary basis. You will be judged by how keenly you executed the instructions that you received from the Lord in prayer and Bible study.

Your body is God's embassy and until it is recalled through the rapture or a homeward call, you have a responsibility to do the work of an ambassador every day. 2 Corinthians 5:20 says, "Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God."

Saint, understand that your ambassadorship is your most important responsibility on earth and everything you require to fulfill it, including hearing from God, is now at your disposal.

Have a beautiful day!

Faith-Filled Confession

I am Christ's ambassador and my body is His embassy. The life that I live is in the discharge of my work as a reconciler of people to God. Therefore, I keenly acknowledge and take advantage of every resource from the Father to do my job with a view that when I come before the throne of my beloved sovereign, Jesus, I will hear these words said to me: Well done, good and faithful servant. In Jesus' name. Amen.
