God is Love

2/13/2025

“And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him” (1 John 4:16)

Paul writes a powerful admonition to Timothy to “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” The latter part of this admonition to lay hold on eternal life is all-important to grasping God as love, Why? Many don’t lay hold on eternal life. It’s why they die, fail and suffer defeat.

Now, we have said that love is exercising complete and accurate knowledge of the worth of anything, visible and invisible. God is love in that He exercised complete and accurate knowledge of the worth of everything, visible and invisible. Concerning humanity, whom He crafted in His image and likeness, He gave His Son as the complete and accurate equivalent of our worth to Him despite the fact that all had sinned and come short of the glory of God (according to Romans 3:23).

Sin was no deterrent because of love. A God that cannot behold sin beheld all of humanity with love. Why? Because love is like an x-ray that sees beyond sin. 1 Peter 4:8 says, “And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”

This means that we ought to connect to God in each and every person and let this connection orient our relationships. For starters, Romans 13:10 says, “Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.” Why? Because love removes any demarcation between God and us. Love is laying hold of  God in ourselves and everyone else.

This is why the Bible says, “If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?” (1 John 4:20)

Love is how miracles are worked. One time, Jesus completely and accurately estimated that a woman, being a daughter of Abraham who Satan had bound, ought to be free (see Luke 13:16) and He acted thus. What is your estimation of others who don’t yet know who they are based on the complete and accurate estimation of God? Shouldn’t that brother be free? Shouldn’t that sister who is born again be married? Shouldn’t that gang member be a pastor? If you love as God, you can fix these things.

Refuse to let what you see outwardly stop you.

Let love lead today for God is love.

Have a great day.

Faith-Filled Confession

I love as God loves. And I act as God would about these ones that have been loved by my God. I let love lead me today, demonstrating the wonders of God. Glory!!!
