“...Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you" (Matthew 17:20).
The true power of prayer is not in how long or loud we pray—it’s in hearing from God. Prayer that lacks divine instruction becomes empty religion. But when we hear God’s voice in prayer, our faith comes alive and can move mountains.
Christianity isn’t about religious routine. It’s about relationship. We pray not to check a box but to fellowship with the Father, receive His wisdom, and effect change. Jesus modeled this perfectly. At Lazarus’ tomb, He prayed, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me… I knew that You always hear Me” (John 11:41-42). Then, following the Father’s instruction, He called Lazarus out—with a voice of faith—and the dead man came forth.
Faith must have a voice, and that voice comes from what God has said. Jesus didn’t act on His own. He said, “The Son can do nothing by Himself… only what He sees the Father doing” (John 5:19). We too are wired to hear from God. Jesus said, “He who is of God hears God's words” (John 8:47)
So don’t settle for prayer without expectation. Enter your prayer time with the intent to hear. God is always speaking—through His Word and His Spirit. When you hear Him, your faith will speak, and your world will change.
