"If you preach, just preach God's Message, nothing else; if you help, just help, don't take over; if you teach, stick to your teaching; if you give encouraging guidance, be careful that you don't get bossy; if you're put in charge, don't manipulate; if you're called to give aid to people in distress, keep your eyes open and be quick to respond; if you work with the disadvantaged, don't let yourself get irritated with them or depressed by them. Keep a smile on your face" (Romans 12:7-8 MSG).
To make the most of God's grace, you must devote your energy to fulfilling God's plan for your life, and this requires that you avoid chasing fantasies. Trying to be involved in all that's out there is a recipe for frustration and failure. So, when you find out what God wants you to be about, your focus should be just that!
Apostle Paul said to his son in the faith, Timothy, "Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given you through the prophecy spoken over you at the laying on of the hands of the elders. Be diligent in these matters and absorbed in them, so that your progress will be evident to all" (1 Timothy 4:14-15). In other words, commit without distractions to your primary purpose in life and don't get caught up with things that add no value to your primary purpose.
Many are caught up in a web of activities without any clear and measurable achievements in life. They mistake activities for effectiveness. But know this: Any activity that does not contribute to you achieving God's plan and purpose for your life is an exercise in futility. God gave me a pearl of wisdom on this several years ago. He said to me, "Don't make yourself available to everything and everyone. Only make yourself available to those things and people that are consistent with My plan and purpose for your life." Too many spend valuable time and resources on people and things that do not enhance the quality of their personalities or contribute to their God assignment. And for the most part, these things and people have become hindrances to God's plan for their lives. Why would anyone waste their life pleasing others at the expense of God? As long as we still have people who seek to please men above God, the graveyard will remain the most expensive real estate on earth.
So, make the decision today not to be a men pleaser. Let your focus be God and His assignment for your life. Romans 12:7-8 MSG say,s "If you preach, just preach God's Message, nothing else; if you help, just help, don't take over; if you teach, stick to your teaching; if you give encouraging guidance, be careful that you don't get bossy; if you're put in charge, don't manipulate; if you're called to give aid to people in distress, keep your eyes open and be quick to respond; if you work with the disadvantaged, don't let yourself get irritated with them or depressed by them. Keep a smile on your face." In other words, your job is to stick with God's agenda for your life And do not complicate your life by comparing your assignment with that of someone else.
God bless you.
Faith-Filled Confession:
I am set on the path that I must follow. God's purpose for my life is primary. I refuse to go off course. I will fulfill God's purpose for my life without reproach. Not by my power or might, but by the Spirit of God. Amen.
Prayer Points
Declare that our brethren are guided by the wisdom of God in their associations, jobs, business ventures and partnerships. They are constantly led by the Spirit of God and guided away from error and poor/bad decisions that may incur losses or negative effects on them.( Isa 30:21; Isa 58:11, 1 Cor 1:30)
Pray for our brethren, that more than ever, they will stay focused on Christ and the things of the Kingdom, and they will not be distracted by the transient pleasures of this world.
Pray for our brethren, that an indescribable hunger for souls is stirred in them continually causing them to preach the word everywhere with boldness, resulting to the salvation of more souls and that the Word of the Lord may increase and bear more fruits in them (Acts 4:29-31)
