GET RID OF GOSSIP

"Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer" (2 Corinthians 5:16).
Gossip is a contaminant you must run away from as a child of God. Whether what is said about a person is factual or not, if it does not align with the Word of God, it is knowledge based on the flesh. The danger here is that the flesh is the source of all corruption.
Once the desire to gossip is entertained or partaken in by a Christian, an invocation of corruption is set in motion, and the sequence is always the same, according to James. "Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death" (James 1:15)
The challenge with gossiping is that it always leads to sin. "When there are many words, wrongdoing is unavoidable, But one who restrains his lips is wise" (Proverbs 10:19 NASB). Secondly, the Christian is called to speak evil of no one. In Titus 3:1-2, Paul charges us to "Remind them [you] to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men."
Gossip is likened to a contagion, and people who gossip to its carriers. Proverbs 20:19 AMP states, "He who goes about as a gossip reveals secrets; Therefore do not associate with a gossip [who talks freely or flatters]." Gossip is a spiritual poison that cuts people deep. Proverbs 18:8 says, "The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly."
As we prepare for the next phase of the Year of Wonder and, more particularly, the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, get rid of gossip. Do not entertain gossip media either. Let everything you see or hear about others that contradict God's Word die with you. Yes, expect the enemy to tempt you to gossip about others. But the Bible says, "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7)
There is too much at stake for us in our many capacities as ministers of Jesus Christ, as members of a Church family, and as beacons of righteousness to be lured into gossip. So beware. Nothing drains the corporate anointing like it. If you must say anything about anyone, speak as the oracles of God about that person or keep quiet.
Have a great day!
Faith-Filled Confession
I am the oracle of God. Therefore, I speak as I am. Scandals, mistakes, and misgivings of others find no expression through my lips. I am a priest of God, and my lips only retain the knowledge of God's Word. I keep no company with gossip, and I overcome every urge to partake in gossip by the blood of the Lamb and the words of my testimony. Hallelujah!
