FOUNDED ON THE WORD

04/15/2024

"And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak." (2 Corinthians 4:13)

Foundations are fundamental to every structure for the fact that without foundations there can be no structures. Now, if this is understandable from a physical engineering standpoint, it should not be difficult to understand this idea spiritually. In 1 Corinthians 3:9, the Bible says, "... you are God’s field, you are God’s building." 1 Peter 2:5 further describes us thus: It says, "...you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ."

As a house that offers spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ, it is important to understand two things: what spiritual sacrifices are, and how to offer these sacrifices. Hebrews 13:15 describes spiritual sacrifice this way. It says, "Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name." We offer spiritual sacrifices from the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to the name of Jesus.

We are told how to offer spiritual sacrifices in Hebrews 13:5-6. It says, "Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” In essence, we speak, act, and live because He spoke.

Many focus on the external first, what they can see, touch, and perceive with the senses instead of the foundation. Hear me, a structure's foundation, for the most part, is invisible. This means that every action, speech, and thought of a Christian must be founded on believing the Word of God. This is the meaning of 2 Corinthians 4:13, which says, "And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak."

As a believer in Christ Jesus until you have believed, don't speak or take a course of action. But what does it mean to believe in Christ Jesus? You ask. It means to meditate on the Word of God. Jesus said, "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock." (Matthew 7:24)

Understand that "...you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart" (2 Corinthians 3:3) and the only way to live out your course is to know the word of God intimately through meditation.

Make up your mind to believe the Word of God by meditating on it every day. The only way to live the Word effortlessly is to meditate on it minute by minute. Joshua 1:8 hints at this. It says, "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."

Have a beautiful day!

Faith-Filled Confession

I am an epistle of Christ manifested. I believe the Word of God is a foundation for all of my thoughts, speech, and actions. I am intimate with the Word so much that I am indistinguishable from Him, to whom I have to do. Hallelujah!
