FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS TO THE FINEST DETAIL

"Now the word of the LORD came to Samuel, saying, “I greatly regret that I have set up Saul as king, for he has turned back from following Me, and has not performed My commandments.” And it grieved Samuel, and he cried out to the LORD all night." (1 Samuel 15:10-11)
Everyone has a role in the house of God and if you function with absolute obedience to the instructions or assignments that the Lord gives, you will abound with testimonies. However, if you do not pay attention to the fine details of the instructions that come to you from the Lord, you may cause yourself jeopardy because God will still have whatever He wants to be done, done.
In today's theme scripture, the Lord rejects Saul as king, not because he didn't carry out His instruction but because Saul carried it out partially, and in consultation with others. 1 Samuel 15:9 says, "But Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep, the oxen, the fatlings, the lambs, and all that was good, and were unwilling to utterly destroy them. But everything despised and worthless, that they utterly destroyed."
Saints, when God gives you personal instructions, don't be in a hurry to consult with men for validation. You get it done. When God called Saul of Tarsus, he didn't make the mistake of immediately consulting with men. He writes, "But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace, to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood" (Galatians 1:15-16). Rather, adhere to instructions and let every interaction with others be in line with the instructions you receive.
There is a mechanism for producing outcomes that are testimony-worthy and it is, doing whatever the Lord tells you to do. Whether He instructs you directly by the Holy Spirit, through the scriptures or your pastor, settle it in your mind that you will execute His instructions to the finest detail, and the results will be yours to celebrate.
One more thing, when you fail to follow the Lord's instruction, your disobedience may not only diminish your testimony but add unnecessary responsibilities to others. Samuel had to intercede for Saul and later on in 1 Samuel 15, Samuel also had to complete God's instruction to Saul.
Don't be like Saul. Rather be like David who said "God has spoken once, Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God. (Psalm 62:11). Hear to do.
God bless you!
