FEAR! NOT TODAY

8/11/2025

“The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”Psalm 118:6

As a child of God, you must settle it once and for all: you will not entertain fear in any form—not fear of death, sickness, or the enemy. Fear is not from God; it is the enemy’s tool to open the door to destruction. That is why, over and over, the Lord commands, “Fear not!” Yielding to fear short-circuits the power of God in your life and empowers the schemes of the devil.

Scripture warns that fear is so destructive that Jesus listed “the fearful” alongside the unbelieving and the wicked in Revelation 21:8, saying they will have their part in the lake of fire. This shows how seriously heaven views fear. But praise God—you have not been given a spirit of fear! According to 2 Timothy 1:7, God has given you “a spirit of power, love, and self-discipline.” Fear, for a believer, is an outside force that must be resisted, not a part of your spiritual nature.

Before you were born again, fear may have been your default—something you spoke, acted on, and considered normal. But now, Christ has freed you from it. Hebrews 2:14–15 tells us that through His death, Jesus destroyed the one who held the power of death and set you free from the lifelong bondage of fear.

This means that no matter the report you receive—whether about your health, finances, family, or future—you are not legally bound to fear. Any report that contradicts God’s Word is subject to change. His report is always good, and darkness has never overcome light. So, instead of giving in to fear, let such situations be an opportunity to put the Word of God to work.

Jesus said in John 16:33 (AMP): “Be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]”In other words—there is nothing to fear.

Let Christ-consciousness dominate you. Keep your speech faith-filled. David declared, “The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1). Make that your own confession. When sudden fear tries to rise, counter it with the Word. Don’t let fearful thoughts pass unchecked—speak faith into every moment.

Faith-Filled Confession:

I refuse to fear, for the Lord is with me. I will not give my thoughts to fear’s schemes. I see victory in every situation. I declare that the LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? Nothing and no one! In Jesus’ name, amen.
