FEAR IS THE CAUSE

"Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed, and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled]" (John 14:27 AMPC). Contrary to what many have suggested, fear is not a normal emotion; the Bible calls it a spirit. And because it's a spirit, it will not respond to medication or anything else but the name of Jesus. So many precious destinies have been lost because of its manifestations--depression and anxiety. Proverbs 12:25 says, "Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad." It's sad to know that even ministers of God have ended their lives because of anxiety and depression. This is why we must treat fear and its offsprings, depression, and anxiety, like the enemies that they are. We must confront them with the truth because the only thing that can conquer a lie is the truth. The truth that says we have victory over fear and anything else that comes from the enemy. God never intended for us to experience anxiety or any of its attributes. Romans 14:7 says, "For the kingdom of God is…righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost." In other words, the kingdom that you belong to does not tolerate anxiety, and you shouldn't. Therefore, you must refuse any feeling of anxiety, no matter how small it may be. Some people try to justify anxiety as being outside of their control, but the devil is a liar! Jesus said, "Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed, and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled]" (John 14:27 AMPC). This Scripture tells us that we have absolute control over fearand anxiety. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, "God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." So, if God did not give us fear, we should not accept it from anyone. The Scripture tells us that God has given us all things needed for a godly life (2Peter 1:3), and fear was not part of the package. Saints, that you feel fear does not mean that you have it. The moment you feel fear, you must reject it swiftly in the name of Jesus because fear is like an odorless gas that can build in you until it chokes the life out of you in the form of depression. It makes no difference that the source of the fear is connected to your health, finances, or children. You must look beyond the situation and confront the fear in Jesus' name. Many are so focused on treating depression and anxiety but fail to address the real issue--fear. If you successfully deal with fear, the depression will be gone. So, boldly exercise your authority over fear and its elements in Jesus' name. God bless you. Faith-Filled Confession: The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? God has not given me the spirit of fear; He has given me the spirit of love, power, and a sound mind.
