FAITH AS SEED

"For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world— our faith” (1 John 5:4).
Everything that is born of God is superior to its worldly counterfeit. The system of this world can only copy and counterfeit the things that originate in God. However, the things that originate from God originate by a process—faith.
Romans 12:3 tells us, “For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.” Faith is dealt to each of us as a seed. Our job is to treat our faith as a seed until it becomes so formidable that it can accomplish anything.
When the disciples found difficulty casting out a devil, the Bible says, “Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20-21).
Maybe you have been meaning to pay off a creditor, secure a job, or get pregnant, Jesus says the same thing to you today, “…if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”
Now the import of this is not that you need to acquire faith as a mustard seed. Romans 12:3 already confirms that you have the “mustard seed” faith. It says God has already dealt you the measure of faith. The utility of this is that you nurture your faith as you would a seed by tending to it with the mindset of a farmer looking to a harvest.
And the first thing you must do is to develop a habit of listening to the Word of God. Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” This is repeated listening to messages, reading the Bible aloud to your hearing, and making personalized confessions of the Word.
The other thing to do is take leaps on the Word the moment faith arises in your heart. 2 Peter 1:19 says, “And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.” Sometimes, when faith arises, you will be prompted to take actions that make little sense in the direction of whatever you are applying faith toward.
Saint, you are born of God and, by right, overcome the systems of this world so that nothing, not its financial system, not its political system, and certainly, not its health system, can come against your commission to make disciples by revealing Jesus by speech and conduct.
This is your day of victory. Approach your faith as a seed.
God bless you!
