EYE MANAGEMENT

12/17/2022

"Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, And revive me in Your way." (Psalm 119:37)

There is a connection between your physical eyes and your spiritual eyes and in a bid to obscure your spiritual vision, the enemy will wage a war from the outside in, by presenting worthless things before your physical eyes.

Understand that your spiritual eyes are in your heart and in order to corrupt your spiritual eyes, the enemy sponsors ungodly visuals before your eyes. However, Jesus spoke about the remedy. Matthew 5:29 says, "If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish than for your whole body to be cast into hell."

Plucking your eye out simply means managing the things your eyes behold. Job said “I have made a covenant with my eyes; Why then should I look upon a young woman?"(Job 31:1). In the instance of Job, a young woman was the thing that he needed to "pluck his eye out for". Maybe, yours is a TV show, X rate movie, social media platform or YouTube channel.

What is more? Your physical eyes actually belong to God. The Bible says, "The hearing ear and the seeing eye, The LORD has made them both" (Proverbs 20:12). So, you owe God to yield your eyes to Him. Romans 6:19 says, "I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness."

So, be very conscious of the things you allow through your eyes for your eyes are a doorway into your heart.

Faith-Filled Confession

My eyes belong to God and I yield my eyes to honor Him. I see as God will have me see in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
