“I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving.”
— 2 Corinthians 8:7
As the year draws to a close, God is calling us to demonstrate our faith and love for Him through giving. Giving is never about God trying to take something from us; it is always about Him positioning us to receive more. Scripture tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God, and giving is one of the clearest expressions of faith (Hebrews 11:6).
Giving is not determined by the abundance of resources, but by obedience. Every believer has something to give because generosity is part of our nature in Christ. Just as we do not live right to become righteous—but live right because we are righteous—so also we give because we are generous. A life that lacks generosity contradicts the God-life made available to us in Christ.
Paul acknowledged that the Corinthians excelled in faith, knowledge, and love, yet he urged them to excel also in giving. Their generosity was the expression needed to complete what God was doing in their season. In the same way, God is calling us to respond to His Spirit with intentional generosity—toward our local church and toward those in need.
Choose today to be a channel of God’s blessings. Let your generosity speak louder than your words. As you excel in the grace of giving, expect divine shifts, favor, and increase to follow.
God bless you.
Faith-Filled Confession
I excel in faith, knowledge, love, and in the grace of giving. Generosity flows through me freely. I am a channel of God’s blessings, and I respond willingly when God calls me to give. Amen.
