DON’T LET THE WORLD TALK YOU OUT OF THE WORD

"How blessed is the person who does not take the advice of the wicked, who does not stand on the path with sinners, and who does not sit in the seat of mockers."Psalm 1:1

The world’s way of doing things will never agree with the realities of the new creation. So stop trying to fit the wisdom of this world into the life you have received in Christ. Jesus said,“No one puts new wine into old wineskins…”(Matthew 9:17). Now that you are born again, you have received new life, new realities, and a new way of thinking. Your thoughts, decisions, and responses must therefore be shaped by the Word of God.

Romans 12:2 says, “Do not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.” This is especially important when it comes to prayer and the things of the Spirit. Stop looking to the world for validation before you take a stand on what God's Word has already revealed.

The Bible tells us that “the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him”(1 Corinthians 2:14). Therefore, don't be surprised when people who do not understand spiritual things question what God has given you. You don't need the approval of those who cannot discern the things of the Spirit.

Consider speaking in tongues. First Corinthians 14:2 says, “For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God… in the spirit he speaks mysteries.”Notice that this communication is directed to God. It is a divine means of prayer and fellowship with Him. Why, then, would you allow the opinions of people who do not understand it to rob you of something God has given you?

The Word says, “He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself” (1 Corinthians 14:4). When you pray in the Spirit, you are building yourself up and strengthening your inner man. Jude 20 says, “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.” There is a refreshing that comes when you give yourself to fellowship with the Holy Ghost.

Saint, don't allow skepticism, religious tradition, or the opinions of others to make you neglect what God has provided for your spiritual growth. You don't have to understand everything with your natural mind before you obey the Word. Faith begins where human reasoning ends.

This is why David said, “How blessed is the person who does not take the advice of the wicked…” (Psalm 1:1). Don't sit where the things of God are mocked. Don't allow conversations that continually attack the Word to sow seeds of doubt in your heart. Guard your spirit and protect the convictions that have been established in you through God's Word.

Give yourself to prayer. Pray with your understanding, but also pray in the Spirit. Sing in the Spirit. Praise in the Spirit. Fellowship with the Holy Ghost. As you do, you will experience greater spiritual strength, clarity, refreshing, and boldness to walk in the realities of Christ.

You are not called to live by the opinions of the world. You are called to live by the Word.

Hallelujah!

Faith-Filled Confession:

I refuse the wisdom and opinions of this world when they contradict God's Word. I am governed by the Word and led by the Holy Spirit. I give myself continually to prayer and fellowship with the Holy Ghost. As I pray in the Spirit, I am strengthened, refreshed, built up, and established in my faith. I walk boldly in the realities of Christ, and my life is a testimony of God's glory. In Jesus' name. Amen.
