DO NOT REDUCE YOUR EXPECTATIONS

6/17/2026

"Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us." — Ephesians 3:20

One of the enemy's greatest strategies is to convince believers to lower their expectations. After experiencing delays, disappointments, setbacks, or unanswered questions, many begin to adjust their expectations to match their circumstances rather than God's Word

But God's Word to you today is simple: Do not reduce your expectations to match your circumstances.

What you see today is not the final chapter of your story. Your current situation does not have the authority to define your future. God's promises are greater than your challenges, and His power is greater than any obstacle standing before you.

Abraham had every natural reason to lower his expectations. His body was old, Sarah's womb was barren, and years had passed without the promised child. Yet he "did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God" (Romans 4:20).

Why? Because he understood that God's ability was not limited by his circumstances.

Perhaps you have been tempted to settle for less than what God promised. Maybe you've thought, "At my age, it's too late," or "I've tried too many times," or "Things will probably never change." Those thoughts do not come from God.

The same God who parted the Red Sea, raised Lazarus from the dead, and fulfilled His promise to Sarah is still at work today.

Lift your eyes beyond what you see. Refuse to be governed by fear, doubt, or past disappointments. Instead, anchor your expectations in the Word of God. Expect His favor. Expect His goodness. Expect His intervention.  Your circumstance is temporary, but God's Word is eternal.

God bless you!

Faith-Filled Confession

I refuse to reduce my expectations to match my circumstances. My faith is anchored in God's Word and not in what I see. I believe that God is working all things together for my good. Doors are opening, opportunities are arising, and His favor surrounds me. My future is bright, my faith is strong, and my testimony is on the way. In Jesus' name, Amen.
