DO NOT BREAK RANKS

09/18/2023

"And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day" (Jude 1:6).

There are many reasons why you should never break ranks, and by breaking ranks I mean, contradicting, being in conflict with or speaking against the spiritual leadership that God places over you. It may not augur well because, in God's law, breaking ranks is like witchcraft and idolatry.

In 1 Samuel 15:23, the Bible says, "For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He also has rejected you from being king." Breaking ranks doesn't just procure God's wrath; it evokes instant judgment.

This is why you cannot even be quiet about the rebellion of others. The Bible says, "Warn a divisive person once and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them" (1 Timothy 3:10 NIV). Such people only get two strikes.

The moment a person breaks ranks, the risk to that person is the loss and non-recoverability of that rank. Remember that Esau was the first person to break ranks when he loathed his primogeniture and exchanged it for a piece of bread and lentil stew (see Genesis 25:34). The Bible says, "For you know that afterward when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears" (Hebrews 12:17).

Breaking ranks is not a thing you can come back from, and so the Bible says to "Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you" (Hebrews 13:17).

There is no profit in breaking ranks, Saints. If you have a clash with your spiritual leadership, the leader with whom you have the issue has a leader, even up to Jesus, and what you do is appeal while maintaining your obedience until the matter is determined according to the scriptures. The kingdom of God is not a democracy, and we do not break ranks.

Have a beautiful day!

Faith-Filled Confession

I am mindful of spiritual authority in the name of Jesus. I am no rank-breaker, but I am careful to maintain the order that the Spirit has set in the Body. Glory be to God.

Prayer points

Begin with thanksgiving to God for the upcoming Global Day Of Praise.

Let's continue to pray that God's people will live revived, broken, and awaken to God's will, grace, instruction, and correction in righteousness.

Continue to Pray that God's people will live undistracted by the pleasures of this world. Also, Pray that none of us will yield to the demand of the flesh and the devil.
