“The expert in the law replied, ‘The one who had mercy on him.’ Jesus told him, ‘Go and do likewise.’” — Luke 10:37
Your success in life is directly connected to your relationship with the Word of God. Joshua 1:8 teaches us that when we meditate on God’s Word and live according to it, we will prosper and succeed.
Many people desire change, yet ignore the very instructions that produce victory. Jesus made it clear that greatness in God’s Kingdom is found in humility, love, and service to others.
In Luke 10, Jesus told the story of a man who was attacked by robbers and left wounded on the roadside. A priest saw him and passed by. A Levite also ignored him. But a Samaritan stopped, cared for his wounds, and made sure he was restored. Ironically, the Samaritan was the least expected person to help, yet he revealed the compassion of God more than the religious men.
Through this parable, Jesus teaches us that our neighbor is anyone in need of love, mercy, kindness, and compassion. We must not treat people based on race, appearance, status, or background. Instead, we are called to love others the same way Christ has loved us.
At the end of the story, Jesus gave one simple instruction: “Go and do likewise.” In other words, let your life become a reflection of God’s mercy. Show kindness without expecting recognition, and let the love of Christ flow through you everywhere you go.
God bless you!
Faith-Filled Confession:
The love of God is shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit. I walk in kindness, compassion, humility, and love toward others. My life reflects the mercy and goodness of Jesus everywhere I go. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
