DEFERRING TO THE SPIRIT

10/27/2025

“So he, trembling and astonished, said, ‘Lord, what do You want me to do?’ Then the Lord said to him, ‘Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.’”— Acts 9:6

You’ve probably heard the phrase, “the spiritual controls the physical.” That’s not a cliché—it’s truth! The Bible tells us, “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible” (Hebrews 11:3). Everything visible originates from the invisible.

The spiritual realm rules over the physical. Every true result—good or bad—stems from spiritual influence. That’s why it’s unwise for believers to make decisions or take steps without first deferring to the Holy Spirit.

David understood this secret. When the Amalekites raided his camp and took everything, David didn’t rush into battle. The Bible says he “inquired of the Lord,” asking, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And the Lord said, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all” (1 Samuel 30:8). David’s victory came because he paused to seek divine counsel first.

In the same way, your strength and success lie in your ability to defer to God’s Spirit. Don’t live by impulse or human reasoning. Even when the next step seems obvious, pause and ask, “Lord, what would You have me do?” The Holy Spirit’s counsel always leads to peace, precision, and victory.

Many fail not because they lack faith, but because they move before hearing from God. When you defer to the Spirit, you align yourself with heaven’s timing and flow with divine wisdom. Remember—He’s not just your Comforter; He’s your Counselor and Advantage in life.

Let His voice lead you daily. When you do, your results will carry the unmistakable signature of the Holy Ghost.

Faith-Filled Confession

I live in constant deference to the Holy Spirit. His wisdom guides my thoughts and actions. I move in divine timing and direction, producing results that reveal His glory. My life flows in harmony with His perfect will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
