THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BELIEVING AND FAITH

3/6/2025

"You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!" (James 2:19)

Faith is not believing and believing is not faith. Rather, believing is a subset of faith. This means to have faith, you must first believe. Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." In essence, faith is thinking, speaking and acting on what you believe.

So what is believing? Believing is hoping. In the context of Christ, believing is hoping for the things that Bible says are yours. However, hope is not tangible. It have no value in the physical world. Romans 8:24 says, "For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?" In other words, if you can see hope, it is no longer hope. Hope or believing is of the soul and finds no expression in the physical except by faith. Hebrews 6:19 says, "This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil."

On the other hand, faith is the substantiation or materialization of hope into something tangible. Based on the Word, we have defined faith as the alignment of a person's thoughts, speech and actions with the Word of God.

Now, thoughts are so important to the process of transmuting believing into faith because thoughts convert the unseen into tangibles. This is why the LORD requires that we take charge of the process through meditation. Joshua 1:8 says, "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." The materialization of hope happens through meditation and in the moment that faith arrives, you think, speak and act with the full perception of its substance.

If you experienced symptoms and faith arrived, you think, speak and act as though you are rid of the symptoms. If you experienced lack and faith arrived, momentarily you think, speak and act rich. And as an aside, acting rich doesn't mean you acting 'bougie', no. The rich work. They produce. And take care of their loved ones.

Sisters and brothers, believing is not enough. Faith is the ultimate. Let's move on to perfection.

God bless you!

Faith-Filled Confession

I distinguish faith from believing by aligning my thoughts, speech and actions with the Word of God I meditate on daily. I am a faith-child of a faith-God and by my expression of faith, the Father is pleased with me every waking moment of my life. Hallelujah!
