CONCERNING VIRGINS: ENVISAGE THE TIMES

09/15/2023

"Now concerning virgins: I have no commandment from the Lord; yet I give judgment as one whom the Lord in His mercy has made trustworthy" (1 Corinthians 7:25)

As a child of God, marriage should be the least burdensome issue in your life. Don't get me wrong. Marriage is important. But whether you are married or single. It should only enhance your worship and preparation for the Lord's return. 1 Corinthians 7:29-30 says, "But this I say, brethren, the time is short, so that from now on even those who have wives should be as though they had none, and those who weep, as though they did not weep; and those who rejoice, as though they did not rejoice; and those who buy, as though they did not possess;" In essence, your marital status, whether you are single, searching, married and happy or married and experiencing turbulence, should affect your devotion to the Lord or your preparation for His return.

The call of the Spirit is to be agnostic to your marital situation and focus on His move in your life. I know some may not like to hear this, but being happy might just make it impossible for you to be broken enough to intercede and evangelize. Maybe someone disappointed you in a relationship, and you are feeling burnt. Maybe it was a parent, spouse, friend or suitor. Channel that energy to what the Lord has determined to do in the now of your life. And just in case you are oblivious to what the Lord's move is and need reminding, it is a month for revival, renewal, and consolidation.

The Bible says, "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise" (Psalm 51:17), letting us know that raw materials for God to launch a torrent of His power in your life are a combination of brokenness and contrition. Imagine that a timer is running down in heaven, and the needed ingredients for God to move supernaturally in your community are your sadness and remorse about the things you have made a priority before now.

See, it's time to cry to God with your loudest voice so that the things that have held you back from readying yourself and others for His coming let you go. I would to God that He would show you how little time we have left. He says to you, "Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes (Isaiah 54:2). Stretch saints. Stretch in prayer. Stretch in fasting. Stretch in evangelism. There is more. Stretch!

Faith-Filled Confession

I am set on the course of brokenness that precipitates an awakening. And as I recalibrate my priorities through the conviction of the Holy Spirit, I stretch for more in God. By the power of God, I know that I will never be the same again. In Jesus' name. Amen

Prayer Points

Pray that God will birth and ignite in you an unquenchable passion for the lost.

Pray that our ministry will be received by those whom we are sent to.

Let's Continue to Pray that God's people will live revived, broken, and awaken to God's will, grace, instruction, and correction in righteousness.

Let's Continue to Pray that God's people will live undistracted by the pleasures of this world. Also, pray that none of us will yield to the demand of the flesh and the devil.
